Devlog [01.01.25]
Sindonic - Jan 1st 2025 05:00NEWS
Hello Sprouts, Happy New Year!
As promised, we are here to provide details about the new Achievement System and the other updates and changes that were published today. Including the changes we mentioned in the end-of-year update published on the 31st. We would have published this yesterday, but it would have made that update overly lengthy. Explaining the features without visuals could lead to confusion, so thanks for sticking with us for these back-to-back updates. Users can find all the features discussed in this devlog live on the site.
Achievements (Alpha) - Live
Achievements are now live. This was our largest programming project this year and will serve as a cornerstone for tracking progress in the ARPG. All current and future activities and functions link to this system, and users can expect all content to unlock Achievements in the future. Therefore, the Achievement System must be fully completed before proceeding.
Users will notice that Tokens and Trials have been removed from character inventories. These Achievements have been seamlessly transferred to the new Achievement Tabs. Moreover, we have added a variety of new accomplishments for both users and characters to strive for.
Due to this update, we had to eliminate the item rewards tied to Tokens. At this time, we lack a system to provide rewards similar to the now-retired Token Item Rewards, and we do not intend to reintroduce these rewards due to the ongoing inflation in the economy from the Winning Flower. We've addressed this in the past, and we hope everyone seized the chance to engage, as Token Items are now officially sunsetted.
Navigation
The Achievement menus are divided into two sections: Character Achievements and User Achievements. Users will notice that Achievements are now at the bottom of their User Profile and Griffian's Masterlists. These menus feature seven tabs: six main Achievements and one "Trophy Section" dedicated to special achievements. The initial menu, located before selecting a specific tab, displays a summary of the User's or Character's progress and the number of available accomplishments yet to be completed. To return to this overview, click on the currently active tab again.
Total Achievements
While we have plans to add many more achievements as we proceed, this update includes:
- Character Achievements = 55 (includes 1 secret Achiemvents.)
- User Achievements = 40 (includes 12 secret hidden Achiemvents.)
The secret achievements are not displayed in the Achievement Tabs until unlocked.
Achievement History Data
Achievements that have already been completed will be labeled with the date "Pre Achievement System Creation" and not the original completion dates since the system will only start using the dates from when it went live. This is currently bugged.
Character Achievements
We have removed Diplomas and Token Stickers from all Character inventories. Instead, users will see them as unlocked in the new Achievement Tab on their Masterlists. In addition to this, familiar tasks like unlocking Mutations, Statuses, and Forms will now be counted as character achievements. This will only expand as we introduce more systems and activities in the ARPG. We believe users will appreciate this more straightforward method of tracking character progression. Although this system is still in its alpha phase, and some of the visuals for these achievements are incomplete, we needed to launch the system to test for errors before focusing on visuals. Each Achievement will feature a unique visual soon, and we appreciate your patience.
User Achievements
Like Character Achievements, the user can also earn Achievements! Familiar accomplishments like creating an account, participating, and creating characters will unlock Achievements just for the user. We know this will give users a more straightforward guide to what they can and should do in the ARPG. This feature is also in alpha, and the visuals are incomplete. Users can expect these visuals later as we work through the alpha phase.
Trophies
Many users have Trophies earned from events. Users will notice these are still in your inventories because this portion of the update is incomplete. At a later update, these items will be moved from the inventory to the corresponding Trophy Tab. Once this portion of the system is live, we will reopen errors for missing Participation Critters and event participation, allowing users to earn Achievements for event content completed in the past. We will manually unlock these Achievements for eligible users. We appreciate your patience and look forward to welcoming those who missed out during our first redemption.
We should note that we want to reduce the feeling of missing out, so the Trophy Tab will only display what users have unlocked rather than all trophies that can be unlocked.
Unfinished or Bugged portions of the Update
- Aside from the incomplete Trophy Tab, the artwork representing each achievement is still in progress and will be finalized shortly.
- Achievements are currently organized alphabetically, but this will be updated to reflect a logical progression order that aligns with gameplay rather than alphabetical sorting.
- The Artist Token is temporarily unavailable due to code repairs, as it currently permits only image submissions despite requiring a written component.
- Achievement pop-ups are not yet operational; users must refresh to verify if they have successfully unlocked an achievement.
- The Achievement progress bars are bugged and do not display the proper values.
- Links featured in the Achievement descriptions are bugged and do not work.
- Achievement unlock dates are not displaying correctly.
What to Expect from Automatically Converted Achievements
Most Achievements have been automatically transitioned, while others will need support from our Help Desk later when the Trophy Tab is fully integrated. However, a few achievements must be re-unlocked.
These are the following:
- Treasure Hunt
- Void Well
- Subtype Change
- Entering Love Raffle
Unfortunately, even with the records available, we couldn't convert these. We understand that redoing some achievements to ensure their accurate recording in the system is inconvenient, but this is a necessary step in merging old systems with new ones. Most of them have been successfully migrated for you automatically.

Changes
Tokens - The requirement for specific completions related to Tokens, including having diplomas or unlocked classes, has been eliminated.
Tokens - Open Species are now able to do tokens.
Tokens - All Tokens, Classes, and Trials have been updated to reward the Achievements instead of Documentation.
Tokens - Previously, when Manual Approvals were in place, users could submit a single Token per bundle, which counted as one Treasure Hunt slot. After moving Approvals to our website, users were required to complete all five at once. Still, if a user had one Token approved in a bundle, it counted as one Treasure Hunt Slot despite the bundle being incomplete. This has now changed. Under the new system, users must complete all five Tokens to unlock all five Treasure Hunt Slots simultaneously. We apologize for not informing users sooner about this change; we did not realize it would affect them this way.
This is an example of a token bundle we manually approved. This will not contribute to Treasure Hunt Slots until all the other Tokens are completed.
Trials - Griffolk and Companions now share the same images for all Achievements. This means that Companion-specific ribbon Documentation has been sunsetted.
CYO - Can now be re-themed.
Mascots - Can now be re-themed.
Mascots - Old Mascot approval has been closed and split into 2 new approvals, one for maze and one for haze. This was done to ensure the Achievement for creating Mascots works properly.
Mascots - Can now use Design Approval.
Website - Character image slot buttons are now hidden if that slot doesn't have an image.
Website - Separated bloomday masterlist search into: day, month, and year for ease of searching on masterlists.
Website - Treasure hunt selected cells and reward rolls are now visible on the treasure hunt grid after submitting.
Removals

Bug - Disabled buy button when buying shop upgrades if the selected item already has the upgrade.
Bug - Fixed bug where the sidebar would overlap page content under certain conditions.
Bug - Fixed bug where character item rewards were doubled by Duo even when the approval didn't have a Magic Familiar bonuses reward.
Bug - Increased padding from 10px to 15px in inventory, relationships, owned characters and history sections.
Bug - Fixed bug where character submissions limit requirements ignored characters not owned by the user that submitted.
